Music education goes far beyond just making music.

Cornerstone offers one-on-one stringed instrument lessons for students starting in first grade, and a lower- and advanced orchestra that performs off-campus several times each year.

This select program provides students with lessons and instruments free of charge. All students grades 1st-8th are welcome to apply.

One-on-One Instrument Lessons

The Cornerstone Orchestra

The Cornerstone Orchestra is a unique opportunity with limited spots, and participation requires approval to ensure a dedicated and cohesive group. Students are provided with instruments, weekly  lessons, orchestra rehearsals, and performance opportunities throughout the year as part of their regular tuition. Students accepted into the Cornerstone Orchestra are expected to practice diligently almost every day of the week so that they can grow in their technique and musicality. Active parental support is essential, as it helps our students stay motivated and prepared for lessons, rehearsals, and performances. This level of commitment ensures that every student has the opportunity to thrive!

Joining the Cornerstone Orchestra is a wonderful opportunity for students to grow spiritually, academically, musically, build friendships, and discover the joy of playing together. Whether your child chooses the violin, viola, or cello, we will provide them with the foundation to thrive.

The Cornerstone Orchestra in action:

When you play music you engage all the parts of your brain. It goes so far beyond just learning to play, it's an exercise that works your entire mind, body, and emotional center.Dr. Joe Kauffman, Musical artistic director

“What we’re able to do here is great. Cornerstone has a different setup than most schools, because we’re giving students something similar to private lessons. In most other schools, there are often 10 or more students per class. I feel strongly that private instruction is the best way to learn an instrument." - Dr. Joe

“Our primary goal is to inspire students to unlock the musical voice inside of them. That means not just teaching the technical skills, but also teaching them to love music. We know they can learn that love from seeing how passionate we are about it.” - Nellie
