Sharing your time and talents is a wonderful way to support Cornerstone and our students.
Volunteering offers a chance to contribute to the life of our school while getting to know our students, teachers and the Cornerstone community.
Throughout the school year, opportunities are available for individuals, churches, businesses and other groups to get involved, including: classroom support, field trips, special events and other activities based on the needs of our students and the school.
We are happy to match your interests, talents and availability with opportunities whenever possible. Opportunities vary throughout the year based on the school calendar and current needs.

MLK Day of Service
Saturday, January 16, 2027 | 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Each January, the Cornerstone community comes together for our signature day of service, honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and our own longstanding commitment to Southwest Philadelphia.
Rooted in our Christ-centered mission and the belief that we are called to serve one another, our MLK Day of Service brings together students, families, staff, Trustees, friends and volunteers for a shared morning of fellowship and service. Together, we put our faith into action, strengthening our school, our neighborhood and the community we call home.

Inspire Cornerstone students' future dreams during this special spirit week as you share your professional story and career advice.
STEM Week
November 16 – 20, 2026
Bring your expertise in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math and help bring hands-on learning to our students during this spirit week.
Holiday Shoppe
December 7 – 11, 2026
Help our young shoppers pick out the perfect gift for their loved ones at our annual Holiday Shoppe. You will guide students in managing their shopping lists and assist with inventory and check-out.
MLK Day of Service
January 16, 2027
Our MLK Day of Service brings together students, families, staff, Trustees, friends, and volunteers to honor Dr. King’s legacy by putting faith into action through fellowship and service.
Teacher Appreciation Week
May 3 – 7, 2027
Join us in showing our gratitude for the teachers who educate, encourage and inspire our students each day. Throughout Teacher Appreciation Week, friends of Cornerstone can participate by contributing treats, gift baskets, classroom wishes and other expressions of thanks.
Read Aloud at Cornerstone
All School Year
Spend time in a Cornerstone classroom sharing a favorite book and helping foster a lifelong love of reading. Opportunities are available based on schedules and needs.
Tutoring and Academic Support
All School Year
Support students in subjects like reading and math. Individual, small-group tutoring, and in-classroom support available with schedules and needs determined by teachers.
