Position Summary
Cornerstone Christian Academy seeks a results-oriented development professional to support the Annual Fund, EITC/OSTC portfolio, and signature events (including the Annual Gala). This role will build and sustain strong relationships with donors, manage the school’s recurring development calendar, and ensure timely, effective implementation of all annual fundraising activities. The Director of Development partners closely with the Director of Institutional Advancement and collaborates with the Advancement Team including admissions, and marketing and communications.
Core Responsibilities
- Annual Fund
- EITC/OSTC
- Manage and grow a portfolio of corporate and individual tax-credit donors: qualification, cultivation, solicitation, renewal, and upgrade strategies.
- Build a rolling EITC/OSTC pipeline (prospects, deadlines, cap availability), coordinate applications with finance, and deliver on-time acknowledgements and impact reporting.
- Events
- Lead the planning and execution of donor-focused events, including the annual gala, donor receptions, and community gatherings, ensuring seamless logistics, compelling programming, and a mission-aligned guest experience.
- Data, Reporting, and Compliance
- Maintain accurate CRM records (gifts, pledges, contacts, soft credits, restrictions); produce clean lists and monthly reporting.
- Uphold ethical fundraising standards; coordinate with the finance department on gift processing, reconciliation, and audit readiness.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree; 3+ years in development teams ideally within independent school or nonprofits.
- Demonstrated ownership of revenue goals and comfort being measured against them.
- Proven skill in segmented appeals, EITC/OSTC (or similar vehicles), and event-to-gift conversion.
- Excellent writing, interpersonal, and project management; thrives on deadlines, metrics, and follow-through.
- CRM proficiency ( eTapestry, or similar) and strong data hygiene habits.

Reporting to the Director of Institutional Advancement and serving as an integral member of Cornerstone’s dynamic Advancement team, the Director of Development drives the success of Annual Giving, EITC/OSTC programs, and donor events, ensuring the school has the resources needed to transform lives and expand its impact in the community.
